I’M NOT SQUIDDING AROUND
Café Bones’ Just Squid is… *drumroll please*…
JUST. Squid. No games.
A uniquely quirky treat in the traditional sense, our squid is like giving your furiend a fishy gummy bear! Sure that has most of you thinking, “gulp and shudder, no thanks”, but remember you aren’t required to partake, in fact we insist you don’t! The furiends that this treat is intended for, will have a Kraken good time!
Great for puppies, dogs, cats and seniors, to use as treats or for training.
Exsquidsite whole Aussie squads (what we have hereby pronounced as the collective noun for squid) are dehydrated slowly in small batches to preserve their integrity and flavour, then packed locally by us.
Packed with a squidron of special benefits, high in riboflavin (vitamin B2), potassium, vitamin B12, phosphorus, and selenium, the inkredible squid is also a very good source of protein! BUT THERE’S MORE! Nutrition nerds, unite here (hyperlink to nutritional info)
Great as a chew with a nice bounce, or easily cut into smaller pieces so you’ll be ‘well armed’ at the dog park or at training. Trust us, it will really (ten)tickle their fancy.
“If you haven’t had these before, I beg you to reconsquider.” – Elise, Devon Rex.
“I thought I was having a squidlife crisis, but it turns out I really AM just the coolest cat on the block when I eat these” – Gigi, British Fold.
“All these squid jokes are Kraken me up”
May be suitable for pets with pancreatitis only after consulting your veterinarian
Squid a highly digestible protein that is full of nutrients like protein, vitamin B12, zinc, phosphorous, vitamin E and magnesium. [1]
It’s also high in Omega-3; a winner for heart health, for reducing joint inflammation in rheumatoid disease, and for nourishing brain and eye function. [2] Included in the Omega-3 family is ‘docosahexaenoic acid’ (DHA) – this is what’s known to improve resting heart rate. FUN FACT: there is more DHA in squid than in other seafoods! [3]
Through clinical studies, squid (categorised as a ‘novel protein’) has shown good results in food-allergic dogs and cats. [4]
Please note, too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing, so – as with all treats – use in moderation as a part of a healthy diet.

While incidents with pet treats are rare, we can’t guarantee that any treat is completely risk-free. We recommend keeping an eye on your pets while they enjoy any treats, including ours. Always provide plenty of fresh water since our treats are dry and will rehydrate in their stomach. Just like we need a drink after eating something dry, so do our pets. Remember that although the treat may appear small, its original protein size was 3-5 times larger. Adjust your dog’s diet accordingly, and remember that treats, no matter how great, are not a substitute for a balanced meal.
