Our sustainably sourced* Australian shark cartilage is a healthy treat with a nice crunch and a good chew.
Great for puppies, dogs, cats and senior pets to use as treats for training, teeth cleaning and dietary supplement. Shark Cartilage could potential be of great benefit to pets with inflammation and joint problems or mobility issues relating to such.
We call shark cartilage ‘nature’s toothbrush’. It is an effective, natural, and yummy way to maintain your dog’s or cat’s teeth, while simultaneously upping their nutrient intake without chemicals and unnecessary colours that some teeth cleaning products have. This is probably the only time we reckon it’s good to have a close brush with a shark!
We promise an average 6 inches in length (14-16cm), however, the width/girth will vary between each stick, because nature does what nature does.
Just Cartilage in regular size, will provide a longer chew for cats and smaller dogs, a medium chew for medium dogs, and ‘achoo’ (a quick chew – sneeze and you’ll miss it) for larger dogs. For a longer lasting chew for medium and large dogs, we recommend the “megalodon” size.
* Shark cartilage is a sustainable product because it’s a byproduct of existing shark fishing practices, meaning its use minimises the waste generated by fish for human consumption and makes additional use of an existing product. The most common use of shark in Australia is for human food sold as ‘flake’.

Shark cartilage is a low-fat, teeth-cleaning, chewy treat, suitable for even the “less thin” of our furry friends. How wonderful! But what else? Honestly, there’s a lot of debate over what wonderful properties it has; from its famous anti-inflammatory effects to relief from joint pain and rebuilding damaged cartilage, to more powerful discoveries such as being a natural source of anti-angiogenic compound and a possible preventative for cancer. The one thing everyone in the medical research world does seem to agree on is that more research is required!
Please note, too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing, so – as with all treats – use in moderation as a part of a healthy diet.

While incidents with pet treats are rare, we can’t guarantee that any treat is completely risk-free. We recommend keeping an eye on your pets while they enjoy any treats, including ours. Always provide plenty of fresh water since our treats are dry and will rehydrate in their stomach. Just like we need a drink after eating something dry, so do our pets. Remember that although the treat may appear small, its original protein size was 3-5 times larger. Adjust your dog’s diet accordingly, and remember that treats, no matter how great, are not a substitute for a balanced meal.
